The Business Literacy Skills Pocketbook was developed with Western Open Books, a service provided by Western Sydney University. This initiative empowers authors to create and publish open textbooks and resources that align with the University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A cornerstone of this approach is the emphasis on quality assurance to ensure that open textbooks produced in collaboration with the Library and Western Open Books are both high quality and accessible to all students who will use them. To achieve this, Western Open Books texts undergo rigorous peer review by faculty subject matter experts and beta testing in classrooms, where feedback is gathered from both students and instructors.
This text has been peer-reviewed by a subject expert from a higher education institution. The review process included an open evaluation by an academic specialising in Sustainability and Sustainability in Education. The reviewer brought the necessary expertise to evaluate the book comprehensively.
The review focused on key considerations, including the book’s intended audience, content accuracy, comprehensiveness, and relevance. Additional factors such as relevance over time, clarity, consistency, structural organisation, flow, grammatical accuracy, and cultural inclusivity were also critically assessed.
