This open textbook anthology is dedicated to the vibrant human and more-than-human communities of Western Sydney, whose diversity, resilience, and challenges inspire our work. From the sprawling suburbs and industrious businesses to the diminishing bushlands, farmland, and life-giving rivers that encircle us, we are committed to serving Western Sydney’s people and places.

Our efforts and impact are rooted in the generosity of partnerships and collaborations forged with these communities over many years. While Western Sydney University is deeply embedded in this region, our mission transcends local borders. Knowledge, like rivers, is porous and meant to ebb and flow, reaching far and wide.
